forced fumbles…played in a college system similar to the defensive scheme used
by the Steelers. 2007: Played and started in six games for Duke…suffered
a season-ending knee injury against Wake Forest…finished the season with 37
tackles (21 solos), seven tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, a forced fumble and four
QB hurries…recorded a career-high 12 tackles at Northwestern…notched two sacks
at Miami. 2006:
Started all 12 games...received Duke’s co-Most Outstanding Defensive Player
honors along with Michael Tauiliili...finished third on the team in tackles with
77...led Duke in sacks (3.5) and quarterback pressures (5) while ranking second
in tackles for loss (12.5)...ranked tied for sixth in the ACC with his 1.04
tackles for loss per game average…averaged 6.4 tackles per game to rank tied for
15th in the league...finished with 10 tackles at Boston College...had nine stops
versus both Wake Forest and Miami...posted at least one tackle for loss in
10-of-12 contests...returned the first interception of his career 21 yards for a
touchdown in the regular-season finale against North Carolina...played 708 total
snaps including a season-high 76 versus Boston College...Academic All-District
and Academic All-ACC selection. 2005:
Started the first eight games at linebacker before suffering a season-ending
foot injury against Florida State...finished fourth on the team with 52 total

and added two forced fumbles against the Pirates...had five or more tackles in

letterman under coach Don Byrd at Alamo Heights...helped Alamo Heights to a 13-2
record in 2003, advancing to the state playoff semifinals...earned first team
all-district honors as a tight end, defensive end and punter...all-city and
honorable mention all-state honoree as a defensive end...finalist for city
defensive player of the year...as a senior, recorded 126 tackles, 13 tackles for
loss and six sacks while catching 26 passes for three touchdowns...also competed
in track and field...member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor
Society…son of Mickey and Linda Bailey.
